__A_YAHOO_USER__ asked:

Does anyone know any decent websites which have information on the poetry for the AQA GCSE English Literature exam? Not Bitesize though, I don’t find it very helpful.

Also, in the poem Anne Hathaway by Carol Ann Duffy, how am I supposed to describe it to the examiner? Should I be very safe with it, or will I be marked down for too much detail?

Thanks in advance!

Poetry on the level of “Afterthoughts on a Napalm-Drop on Jungle Villages near Haiphong” type of poetry. I want to make a Vietnam War presentation, but I need to have a poem (or song) to drive it. Thank you.

Morgan G asked:

We were asked to enter a poetry contest for our AP English classes, so I have chosen to write a sonnet about a championship football game, that everyone is excited about, but, ironically, in the end, the home team loses… I need ways to begin and imagery to make the illusion of participation in the game.

Thanks.

What was it that made you become interested in poetry?
I am more interested in why or what made you want to read more poetry. Not write it, per se.
