How can I get more people to read the Hank Feral 360 page to check out my prose and poetry?
Sunday, March 8th, 2009I would like to get comments about my poetry and prose. How can I get people to check it out? I hear about the power of the blog, but I don’t know much about computers. So my knowledge on how to draw visitors to my 360 page is very limited.
Would you, the Yahoo Question and Answers audience, help me out? I consider myself a serious writer and poet, and treat my prose accordingly. Help? I’ve tried to start a poetry group. But my computer illiteracy places that option in the no can do file.
It seems every time I start the answering the questions required to start a group I am considered a person looking for a person to do whatever. I don’t care one iota about that kind of group. I want to be in a serious poetry and prose group, not a singles group “looking.” Hank Feral

Why are songs lyrics not poetry?
Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009I just read an article that stated.
“Despite the many similarities, poetry and song lyrics are not the same thing. And songs lyrics ARE NOT poems set to music.”
My poetry teacher of five years said similar a thing. And other writers and musicians I talk to seem to utter a similar sentiment. As well as the consensus that poetry is regarded, in Academia anyway, as the highest of the literary art forms because of how hard it is to do well and when one compares song Lyrics with poetry the difference complexity can be seen quite plainly because song lyrics depend on music in most cases, to mask the weakness of the words.
I have started a poetry class for kids and this question came to wreck me like the plague.
Any comments?
