Seems like every slam I’ve attended or participated in, the men always win…and even if their poetry is garbage, the more angry and vulgar they are the more likely they’ll win. So those who are poets or go to slams, have you noticed this too? Also, it seems some of the slams are biased age wise as well. As if anyone over 35 has no business there. What are your experiences please?

I am interested in all of the 20th century, but especially poems and poets from the last half of the century and the present.

I like poems that are accessible but of genuine literary merit. Please do not include those massive textbooks, like the Norton Anthology. Also you do not need to include the Best American Poetry series; they are very interesting, but I have a complete collection of those already.

I can’t think of a title because my book is about so many themes. Like some about love and some about **** and others about friends! What is a good title?
