How can I write “better” poetry?

Sending in poetry with college application?

I want to send in 3 samples of my poetry with my college application. I printed out each poem individually, with my name and date on each one. Is that all I need to include? My mother wants me to include pictures relating to the poems on each page, but is that a bad idea? I think it might look unprofessional. How did you send in your poems?

Why the Decline of Interest in Poetry and Literature?

How do I find someone to publish my poetry?
