I always have trouble understanding poems. I just don’t get poetry. Is there a certain way to read and understand poetry? Is it a skill? Are there any poets out there that are easier to read and understand what they are talking about?

I’ve been told that you have to go to certain websites that sell greeting cards if you want to sell a poem. So I did, and they all say the same thing “we have a staff of profesional poets who…..”. I need to know what companies actually buy poetry. I’ve been told to buy this book called “poets market” or something like that. Well, to be onest with you I don’t feel like spending around $25 for a book when I don’t even know how much I’ll make of my poems. So, if you can help me I will really apriciate it. Thank you very much.
